Well we started swimming classes this week. I was trying to get Dayson pumped about it so I kept talking about it. He asked where his swimming glasses were. I told him we dont have any, just swimming classes. Well he thought about it and said he would just open his eyes in the water. Its quite a drive and we got lost. I was frustrated and said I couldn't find the swimming classes. He then told me, "mom, just open your eyes." We did find the house and have gone 3 days. It's not these fun classes that let the kids blow bubbles, kick, and splash. Its a survival class. They repetitively have the child swim to the side, that way if the child ever falls in, they will have it etched in their brain to swim to the side. Its not for everyone, but perfect for Dayson. He has only thrown up once. When its not his turn he is as far away from the pool as he can get, but willingly comes back for his turn.
We are having a great holiday. We participated in a hot parade down our street this morning, then James took Dayson to a movie, sort of a reward for swimming and potty training. We will have a BBQ/swim party soon, and of course puppy chow and fireworks at Mesquite HS tonight. What fun.

Sounds like fun. I wish I would have done private swimming lessons with Macey, but I always put her in classes at a public pool. I think she would have done better at someone's house than with the lifeguard and a class of 10 kids. Oh well. She threw up in a swimming class once too. They had to evacuate and shock the pool =) She threw up again at the pool last week, but we got out in time.
I'm glad Dayson's doing well, and I hope you had a fun 4th.
We're doing survival swim too! Nick always tells me stories of how he used to go up to James family reunions and camp out with him when they were kids. I think he's sad he doesn't get to go anymore:)
