James is in a cast and on crutches! While fishing last weekend (10 days ago) he fell into the river and hurt his leg. Then he preceded to hike a few miles to continue fishing. Well when he got home his leg hurt and it has only gotten worse. After 5 days, he noticed his ankle was bruised. So finally today he went to the doctor and came back in a cast and crutches. He had a severely sprained ankle and a possible break in his shin! Can you believe it!
He is sick of the crutches already. He cant wait until next week when he gets a boot.
Since I don't have a great story behind the "fall" (he said it happened to fast to remember and he was more worried about fishing), I thought I would share a story from last fishing trip.
James caught a fish. As he was trying to get it off the hook, he hooked himself. So the fish is squirming around while James is trying to hold it still to keep it from tearing his hand. It is still on the pole so James cant go anywhere and only has one hand to free the other hand. Meanwhile his dad is 1/2 mile up the river. He hears James yelling for help, but mistakes it for James yelling he caught a fish. James ends up waiting for his dad to come rescue him.
this can be such a dangerous sport!

Sheesh! I knew fishing was dangerous. Poor guy, tell him I am so sorry. All Alan ever get's is a hook stuck in his lip or finger. It is a very dangerous sport!
Hugs, Bobbi Jo
I was about to say "who knew?" in regards to the dangers of fishing, but apparently your friend Bobbi Jo is very aware of the risks. Actually, now that I think about it, I did have a friend hook herself in the head while trying to cast the line. Not as bad as James though. Hope he feels better and can endure the crutches a little while longer.
