The Garden of Sherwood

So I mentioned the garden that we have been building, we are almost done and I wanted to show you all. My father in law is actually in charge of this project. When he does something, he goes all out. He built a barn a few years ago that was bigger than the house I was living in at the time! So here goes
THE GARDEN OF SHERWOOD:

The big beams went all around the perimiter. (I couldn't find a good hat to keep the sun off Dayson, but the cowbay hat worked great!)

Grandpa and his helpers

They built a fence around it to keep out rabits. We added some sand and there is also a sand box for the kids to play in at the end of the garden.
Here they are spreading the sand

Planting the seeds. (Look at that gate and those nice rows!)

Dayson planting the flower bed.
Grandpa still wants a bench, scarecrow, and a windmill!

It has a great irrigation system built in for watering. I need to make signs of what they planted where so we will know what they planted and where! Now all we have to do is wait for something to grow. (Oh, and weed it ha, ha!)

Wow! You weren't kidding: that thing is huge! It looks like fun though, especially when the weather cools down a bit.

Ohhh, I'm so jealous! I would LOVE a big garden some day. For now I have my little planter box one. It works I guess. How exciting for you though. Have fun in the heat.. ha ha!

What is it about these Grandpas and their grandiose plans?! It actually turned out much nicer than my worried imagination was picturing! Sounds like a big family project for quite a while. Keep a photo diary of this one!

Hey there! Thank you for visiting my cooking blog. I just started it on Monday.
May I say I am so jealous of your garden area. I miss having lots of garden space and a big yard. I love your garden area. Your blog is great! I am going to be reading it to catch up on all you and your family have been up to.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

That is by far the coolest garden I've seen!

That looks fabulous! It's funny to read about planting though as the growing season here is just wrapping up. It is the first day of fall after all.

I had great plans to garden this year, but it just didn't happen. I guess I just needed the father in law to take over and get it done!
